I'm a relatively well-educated, ambitious, creative guy who isn't above getting his hands dirty and acting completely silly. In fact, there's a part of me that really enjoys being in stuffy corporate meetings and saying something that's completely moronic and out of left-field, just to see if anyone is paying any attention. Usually, no one is. I've worked in the creative industry most of my career, in television, film, public relations, and advertising. Probably my most interesting job thus far was as a producer for PBS. There, I met lots of interesting folks and had lots of interesting adventures. I've interviewed Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Colin Powell. Made documentaries about NASA and the US Space Program, spent months in Africa, Ukraine, Ecuador, Costa Rica and other assorted countries, and won an Emmy award for writing. I've had machine guns pointed at me, watched the sun rise over the Indian Ocean, hiked up volcanoes in the Pyrenees Mountains, sailed on container ships across the Atlantic, gotten sick with malaria, been stuck in mine fields, raised millions of dollars for corporations, composed musical scores for commercials, and made about twenty zillion assorted mistakes in my life, most of them pretty stupid, but well-meaning. My perfect match: My perfect match is someone who knows themselves, is capable of self-reflection, considers learning a lifelong process, and is emotionally honest with both themselves and with others. At the end of the day, if you are interested in the world around you and halfway like yourself, that's a great start.
